Modern Warfare 4 Aimbot Settings: FOV, Smoothing and Bone Selection Explained
A practical explanation of the aimbot settings that matter in Modern Warfare 4 and how to set them up per weapon type.
A good aimbot is mostly about its settings. Two players using the same feature can have very different results depending on how they configure it. Here is what each major setting does in Modern Warfare 4 and how to think about it.
FOV
FOV defines the area around your crosshair where targets can be selected. A large FOV catches more targets but can pull your aim toward players you did not intend to engage. A small FOV is more selective and keeps your aim closer to what you were already doing manually.
As a rule of thumb, tighter FOV suits long range weapons, and wider FOV suits close quarters fights where enemies appear from the side. A visible FOV circle helps you see exactly what the system will consider.
Smoothing
Smoothing controls how quickly your aim moves toward a target. Low smoothing snaps faster. Higher smoothing moves more gradually, which feels closer to manual aiming. Many menus let you set horizontal and vertical smoothing separately, which helps because up and down tracking behaves differently from side to side tracking.
Aim speed and target delay settings work alongside this. A short delay before activation can make behaviour feel less abrupt.
Bone selection
Bone selection decides where on the target your aim goes: head, neck, chest or body. Closest bone selection picks whichever supported point is nearest your crosshair. Chest or body targeting is more forgiving on fast moving targets, while head targeting is more precise but less stable at range.
Visibility checks and target switching
A visibility check restricts targeting to players who are actually visible, so you are not locking toward someone behind a wall. Target lock and switch delay settings control how long you stay on a target and how quickly the system changes to another. A longer switch delay reduces jumpy behaviour in crowded fights.
Build profiles by weapon class
Modern Warfare 4 gunplay varies a lot by weapon. A sensible approach is to save separate profiles:
- SMG profile: wider FOV, faster aim speed, shorter max distance
- Rifle profile: moderate FOV and smoothing, balanced distance
- Long range profile: small FOV, higher smoothing, longer distance
- DMZ profile: target filters for players and AI, with visibility checks on
Pair these with recoil settings for the best results. Our no recoil guide explains how.
Start conservative
Begin with moderate values and adjust in small steps. Extreme settings are harder to control and draw more attention in any match. Keep in mind that all third party software carries account risk, covered in our ban risk article.
